MSC Announces Rate Increases in Europe Effective Starting on 1st March 2022

Due to the strong demand for containers and consequent difficulties to supply needed equipment in Europe, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has updated its rate increase for routes in the EU before the 2022 peak season. 

On 3rd and 9th, February 2022, the largest container shipping line in the world Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the implementation of new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates in Europe, effective from 1st March but not beyond 31 March 2022 until its further notice.

MSC will set a FAK rate increase from the Italian ports of Genoa and La Spezia to Montreal and Vancouver in Canada and to the Mexican ports of Veracruz and Ensenada as well.

This increase of USD1,000 per container will be applied in all 20′, 40′ dry van (DV) and high cube (HC) boxes, forming the new prices as bellow:

In addition, the global shipping line will also push up its FAK rates for trades from the Indian ports of Nhava Sheva, Ennore, Kolkata, and Port Qasim in Pakistan, to Port of Antwerp in Belgium.
