The dockworkers in Japan schedule a one-day strike on Sunday, 17 April 2022, since the country enters “Shunto”.
Every year around February to April in Japan,”Shunto” takes place. It means “spring wage offensive”, a series of negotiations between employees via unions and the employers.
The Japan Harbor and Transportation Association (JHTA) and the National Federation of Dockworkers Union of Japan (Nikoren) are expected to begin discussing dockworkers’ wages.
The strike will begin in the early morning of 17 April 2022 and finish 24 hours later on the morning of 18 April 2022, according to the Texas-headquartered logistics providers in the 3PL industry, Crane Worldwide Logistics, which mentioned, “This [strike] impacts all ports in Japan and all dockworkers and there will be a total lockdown for the full 24 hours.”
